YI Handheld Gimbal 2
YI Technology already introduced a gimbal, YI handheld gimbal, in fall 2017. At MWC 2017 in Barcelona they introduced a new model: YI Handheld Gimbal 2. Their first model was a wearable gimbal which you could easily mount. But you also got the option to put it on YI Monopod to use it handheld.
The new YI Handheld Gimbal 2 looks like a handheld model with some new features. Their first version didn’t show much features, it stabilized the camera, but without options to control the head.
YI Handheld Gimbal 2 looks a bit like GoPro Karma grip with several buttons on the grip to control the gimbal & camera. Besides a power switch there is a joystick to control the head, a record button to start recording of the camera and two buttons to change exposure. There is a mode button circled by 4 individual buttons holding LEDs. I assume the common modes follow, pitch-follow, locking and inverted mode can be selected which the selected to be indicated by LED light. One mode could also be a selfie mode.
On the side there are two mounts: a cold shoe for accessories and on the other side it looks like amount for smartphones, to use them as monitor. On the front there seems to be a 3,5mm jack. It even has a built in LED light to record in low light situations.
Stay tuned – more info to come!
